Fall 2009

I'm very pleased to announce that Dream Havana has been selected to be part of the award winning PBS series titled Voces. Now in it's second season, Voces, hosted by Edward James Olmos, takes you on a journey "deep into the heart of Latino culture". There are eight shows in the Voces series and they begin with a documentary about the great Cuban singer Celia Cruz. The series will start to air nationally on PBS this September. Check your local PBS affiliate for dates and times.

October 2009

This October Dream Havana will be part of the International Festival of Cuban Cinema which takes place in Munich, Germany starting in late October. Now in it's second year this International festival showcases Cuban films of all genres and all eras. I haven't bought my ticket yet, but I hope to be going. September 2009

This September Dream Havana will be screening as part of the Providence Latin American Film Festival. The festival takes place in Providence, Rhode Island from the 30th of September until October 4th. This years festival has a special focus on films made in or about Cuba. Feria del Libro Mexicano y Latino en Chicago.
May 13th to the 19th, 2009

The Mexican and Latino Bookfair in Chicago which takes place at Northeastern Illinois University will be screening Dream Havana as part of the fair. They have chosen to screen Dream Havana largely because of the inspiration that Santana and Mota give to other aspiring Latino writers. Cuban film series at Miami Dade College.
April 26th, 2009 at 7:00 PM

Dream Havana will screen as part of a Cuban film festival at Miami Dade College. The festival is organized by film critic Alejandro Rios and director and co-curator Orlando Rojas. The screening will take place at Miami Dade College at the Tower Theater, 1508 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida. I will be in attendance after the screening for a question and answer session.

Festival de Cine Pobre, Gibarra, Cuba.
April 13th - 19th, 2009

Dream Havana will have its first public screening in Cuba at the Festival de CinePobre in Gibarra, Cuba. Located in the province of Holguin, Festival de Cine Pobre was started by Cuban film director Humberto Solas. Freedom House Europe, Budapest, Hungary.
March 11th, 2009 at 7:00 PM

Freedom House Europe and the Embassy of the Caech Republic will host a screening of Dream Havana, for diplomats, academics and journalists. Freedom House International is one of the preeminent Human Rights organizations in the world and we are very pleased to be invited by them to screen. The film will be followed by a question and answer session and a small reception.

Miradoasdoc, the Guia de Isora International Documentary Film Festival,
October 31st, - Nobember 8th, 2008

Guia de Isora is a small seaside town located on the largest of Spain's Canary Islands. Beautifully situated and wonderfully organized Miradasdoc is truly an international festival with films and film makers coming from all over the world to participate.

13th Ourense International Film Festival,
October 11th - October 18th, 2008

This film festival takes place in the city of Ourense in the Spanish province of Galicia. The festival, directed by Enrique Nicanor, is one of Northern Spain's most important film events.
